WORD OF GOD -- the means by which God makes Himself known, declares His will and brings about His purposes. The phrases such as word of God, and word of the Lord are applied to the commanding word of God that brought creation into existence. - Gen. 1; 2Peter 3:5 -

The term of God is also used of the Ten Commandments given from Mount Sinai, of the whole Mosaic Law, of specific parts of the Old Testament, of a more personal communication from God, of the directive of God that set in motion John the Baptist's ministry, of Jesus' message of the kingdom of God, of the gospels as preached in the early Church, of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. - Duet. 5:5; Is. 2:3; Rom. 9:6; 1Tim. 4:5; 1Sam. 3:21, 15:10; Luke 3:2; 8:11; Acts 4:31; Rev. 19:13 -

God's word is by which He is present and working in the world. He is not Himself part of the world, but He acts in it by means of His word. His word meets deep needs in the human heart and provides peace, joy, love, satisfaction and confident direction. God's word has the power to penetrate all pretense and discern "the thought and intents of the heart". - Hebrews 4:12-13 -

God's speaking of His word reaches a culmination in the sending of His Son. - John 1:1, 14; Heb. 1:1-2 - All that is true of God's earlier word is true of Jesus. The gospel of Jesus Christ is, in a special way, the word of God as it makes known and brings into operation the reconciliation with God which His purpose for mankind. - 2Cor. 5:18-19 -

So central is the gospel to the purpose of God in this world that the successful spread of the gospel is the growth of the word of God. - Acts 12:24 -

Not only Jesus' message, but also all that He is communicates God to us. He Himself is described as the word of God. The Lord Jesus Christ brings the presence of God to a new level-the personal presence of God in the world in a human life.

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!

I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.

HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -
