The actual Exodus was the final event in a series of miracles by which God revealed Himself to His people in bondage, humbled the pride of the Pharaoh who opposed the Israelites and enabled Jacob's descendants to live in freedom once again.

The precise date of the Exodus from Egypt is uncertain because the information in the Sacred Scripture/Holy Bible can be interpreted to support more than one date. Archaeological discoveries also present a confused picture. The result is that some scholars date the Exodus as early as 1446 B.C. while others place it later about 1280 B.C.

The circumstances of Egyptian history are not very helpful either because surviving Egyptian records do not mention either Joseph or Moses in any historical period. Neither does the Sacred Scripture/Holy Bible name the Pharaoh who ruled Egypt in Moses' day. The rise of a new king who "did not know Joseph" or who refused to recognize Joseph's achievements. Then Joseph died, and his brothers and all that generation. But the sons of Israel were fruitful and grew in numbers greatly; they increased and grew so immensely powerful that they filled the land................. - Exodus 1:6-22 -

The promise of the Exodus began with God's revelation of Himself to Moses at the burning bush. - Ex. 3:2 - This was followed by the commissioning of Moses and Aaron to stand before Pharaoh and demand the release of the Israelites. When he refused, a series of ten plagues began. Nine of these involved natural occurrences that were concentrated within a short period of time affecting the Egyptians only and leaving the Israelites untouched. Each plague involved an Egyptian god in some manner showing how powerless such deities were in comparison to Israel's God.

The final plague resulted in the death of all the Egyptian firstborn children and animals. Only when this had happened did Pharaoh agree to release the Hebrew people. They were spared from death by remaining in their houses and putting sacrificial blood on the door spots of their houses before they ate the newly instituted PASSOVER meal.

Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt............................... You shall eat it hastily; it is a Passover in honour of Yahweh.................... This day should be a day of remembrance for you and you must celebrate it as a feast in Yahweh's honour. For all generations you are to declare it a day of festival forever. - Exodus 12:1-14 -

The Egyptians were so glad to be relieved of what had become a great burden to them that they gave the departing Israelites gifts of gold, silver and clothing.

The sons of Israel did as Moses had told them and asked the Egyptians for silver ornaments and gold and for clothing. Yahweh gave the people such prestige in the eyes of the Egyptians that they gave them what they asked. So they plundered the Egyptians. - Exodus 12:35-36 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!

I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.

HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -
