Doctrine refers to a body of beliefs about God, man, Christ Jesus, the Church and other related concepts considered authoritative and thus worthy of acceptance by all peoples of the community of faith.

Christ's condemned the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees because it was of human origin.

Yahweh has said: Because this people
approaches me only in words,
honour me only with lip service
while his heart is far from me,
and my religion, as far as it is concerned,
is nothing but human commandment, a lesson memorised. - Is. 29:13 -

But though they outwardly flattered him
and use their tongues to lie to him,
in their hearts they were not true to him,
they were unfaithful to his covenant. - Ps. 78:36-37 -

Hypocrites! It was you Isaiah meant when he so rightly prophesied:
This people honours me only with lip service,
while their hearts are far from me .
The worship they offer me is worthless;
the doctrines they teach are only human regulations. - Matt. 15:7-9 - Mark 7:6-7 -

By contrast, Jesus' teaching was not systematic and repetitious. It was fresh and profound.

When the festival was half over, Jesus went to the Temple and began to teach. The Jews were astonished and said, 'How did he learn to read'? He has not been taught. Jesus answered them:
My teaching is not from myself:
it comes from the one who sent me;
and if anyone is prepared to do his will'
he will know whether my teaching is from God
or whether my doctrine is my own.
When a man's doctrine is his own
he is hoping to get honour for himself;
but when he is working for the honour of one who sent him,
then he is sincere
and by no means an impostor.
Did not Moses give you the Law?
And yet not one of you keeps the Law! - John 7:14-19 - Matt. 7:28; Mark 1:22; Luke 4:32 -

After Pentecost, Christian doctrine began to be systematized. These remained faithful to the teaching of the apostles, to the brotherhood, to the breaking of bread and to the prayers. - Acts 2:42 - Doctrinal instruction was given by chosen teachers to those who had responded to the gospel. - 1Cor. 12:28-29; Gal. 6:6 -

The earliest doctrine of the Christian Church declared: that Jesus was the Messiah, the Christ; that God had raised Him from the dead; and that salvation was by good deeds, faith and love in God. These truth were presented as a clear fulfillment of the promises of the Old Testament. Sound teaching was a concept deeply engrained in the Jewish mind since Old Testament times. Moses were considered leaders of God's commandments.

Since sound teaching and instruction in the faith is essential to spiritual growth of Christian and the development of the Church. In the New Testament, Saint Paul taught that true doctrines is essential for Christian growth and always pray for God's grace.

Everything God has created is good and no food is to be rejected provided grace is said for it; the word of God and the prayer make it holy. If you put all this to the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus and show that you have really digested the teaching of the faith and the good doctrine which you have always followed. Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives tales. Train yourself spiritually. - 1Tim. 4:4-7 -

Since as president, he will be God's representative, he must be irreproachable: never an arrogant or hot-tempered man, nor a heavy drinker or violent, nor out to make money; but a man who is hospitable and a friend of all that is good; sensible, moral devout and self-controlled; and he must have a firm grasp of the unchanging message of the tradition so that he can be counted on for both expounding the sound doctrine and refuting those who argue against it. - Titus 1:7-9 - Eph. 4:11-13 -

Special attention is directed to the danger of false teachings and that false doctrine destroys the Church.

Before God and before Christ Jesus who is to be judge of the living and the dead, I put this duty to you, in the name of his Appearing and of his kingdom; proclaim the message and, welcome or unwelcome, insist on it. Refute falsehood, correct error, call to obedience - but do all with patience and with the intention of teaching. The time is sure to come when, far from being content with sound teaching, people will be avid for the latest novelty and collect themselves a whole series of teachers according to their own tastes; and then, instead of listening to the truth, they will turn to myths. Be careful always to choose the right course; be brave under trails; make the preaching of the Good News your life's work, in thoroughgoing service. - 2Tim. 4:1-5 -

Then we shall not be children any longer or tossed one way and another and carried along by every wind of doctrine, at the mercy of all the tricks men play and their cleverness in practicing deceit. If we live by the truth and in love, we shall grow in all ways into Christ, who is the head by whom the whole body is fitted and joined together, every joint adding its own strength, for each separate part to work according to its function. So the body grows until it has built itself up, in love. - Eph. 4:14-16 -

Parents were also directed to teach their children about God and His statues.

But take care what you do and be on your guard. Do not forget the things your eyes have seen nor let them slip from your heart all the days of your life; rather tell them to your children and to your children's children...and teach this to their children. - Deut. 4:9-10 -

Accept the strength, my dear son, that comes from the grace of Christ Jesus. You have heard everything that I teach in public; hand it on to reliable people so that they in turn will be able to teach others. Put up with your share of difficulties, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.......Think over what I have said, and the Lord will show you how to understand it all. - 2Tim. 2:1-7 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!

I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.

HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -

God bestows more consideration on the purity of intention with which our actions are performed than on the actions themselves - Saint August...
