Saint Paul's teaching about the Holy Spirit harmonizes with the accounts of the Spirit's activity in the Gospels and Acts of the Apostles. According to Saint Paul, it is by the Holy Spirit that one confesses that Jesus is Lord. - 1Cor. 12:3 - Through the same Spirit varieties of gifts are given to the body of Christ to ensure its richness and unity. The Holy Spirit is the way to Jesus and to the Father. He is the person who bears witness to us that we are children of God.

There is a variety of gifts but always the same Spirit; there are all sorts of service to be done but always to the same Lord; working in all sorts of different ways in different people, it is the same God who is working in all of them. The particular way in which the Spirit is given to each person is for a good purpose.......Just as a human body though it is made up of many parts, is a single unit because all these parts though many, make one body so it is with Christ. In the one Spirit we were all baptised............Now you together are Christ's body; but each of you is a different part of it. - 1Cor. 12:4-27 -

Though your body may be dead it is because of sin but if Christ is in you then your spirit is life itself because you have been justified; and if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, then he who raised Jesus from the dead will give life to your own mortal bodies through his Spirit living in you.
So then, my brothers, there is no necessity for us to obey our unspiritual selves or to live unspiritual lives. If you do live in that way, you are doomed to die; but if by the Spirit you put an end to the misdeeds of the body you will live.
Everyone moved by the Spirit is a son of God. The spirit you received is not the spirit of slaves bringing fear into your lives again; it is the spirit bear united witness that we are children of God. - Rom. 8:11-16 -

The Holy Spirit also reveals to Christians the deep thing of God and the mystery of Christ. The Holy Spirit acts with God and Christ as the pledge or guarantee by which believers are sealed for the day of salvation and by which they walk and live, abound in hope and love with power.

These are the very things that God has revealed to us through the Spirit for the Spirit reaches the depths of everything even the depths of God. After all, the depths of a man can only be known by his own spirit, not by any other man and in the same way the depths of God can only be known by the Spirit of God. Now instead of the spirit of the world, we have received the Spirit that comes from God, to teach us to understand the gifts that he has given us. Therefore we teach not in the way in which philosophy is taught but in the way that the Spirit teaches us: we teach spiritual things spiritually. An unspiritual person is one who does not accept anything of the Spirit of God: he sees it all as nonsense; it is beyond his understanding because it can only be understood by means of the Spirit. A spiritual man, on the other hand is able to judge the value of everything and his own value is not to be judged by other men. As scripture says: Who can know the mind of the Lord, so who can teach him? But we are those who have the mind of Christ. - 1Cor. 2:10-16 -

Remember it is God himself who assures us all and you of our standing in Christ, and has anointed us, marking us with his seal and giving us the pledge, the Spirit that we carry in our hearts. - 2Cor. 1:21-22 -

May the God of hope bring you such joy and peace in your faith that the power of the Holy Spirit will remove all bounds to hope. - Rom. 15:13 - Eph. 3:2-5; Rom. 8:3-9 -

Since the Holy Spirit is the expressed power of the triune family, it is imperative that one not grieve the Spirit since no further appeal to the Father and the Son on the day of redemption is available.

Guard foul talk; let your words be for the improvement of others as occasion offers and do good to your listeners, otherwise you will only be grieving the Holy Spirit of God who has marked you with his seal for you to be set free when the day comes. - Eph. 4:29-30 -

Jesus made this clear in His dispute with the religious authorities who attributed His ministry to Satan/devils rather than the Spirit and committed the unforgiveable sin. - Matt. 12:22-32; John 8:37-59 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!

I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.

HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -

God bestows more consideration on the purity of intention with which our actions are performed than on the actions themselves - Saint August...
