Noah lived at a time when the whole earth was filled with violence and corruption. Yet Noah did not allow the evil standards of his day to rob him of fellowship with God. He stood out as the only one who "walked with God" as was true of his great-grandfather Enoch. Noah was a just and righteous man. The Lord singled out Noah from among all his contemporaries and chose him as the man to accomplish a great work.
When God saw the wickedness that prevailed in the world. He disclosed to Noah His intention to destroy the world by a Flood. God instructed Noah to build an ark in which he and his family would survive the catastrophe. Noah believed God and obeyed Him and 'according to all that God commanded him, so he did'. - Gen. 6:5, 22 -
It was through his faith that Noah when he had been warned by God of something that had never been seen before, felt a holy fear and built an ark to save his family. By his faith the world was convicted and he was able to claim the righteousness which is the reward of faith. - Heb. 11:7 -
With unswerving confidence in the Word of God, Noah started building the ark. For 120 years the construction continued. During this time of grace, Noah continued to preach God's judgment and mercy, warning the unbeliever and ungodly of their approaching doom. He preached for 120 years, however, without any converts. People continued in their wicked and evil ways, and turned deaf ears to his pleadings and warnings until they were overtaken by the Flood.
Why, Christ himself, innocent though he was, had died once for sins, died for the guilty, to lead us to God. In the body he was put to death, in the spirit he was raised to life, and in the spirit, he went to preach to the spirits in prison. Now it was long ago when Noah was still building that ark which saved only a small group of eight people 'by water' and when God was still waiting patiently, that these spirits refused to believe. That water is a type of the baptism which saves you now, and which is not the washing off physical dirt but a pledge made to God from a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ who has entered heaven and is at God's right hand, now that he has made the angels and Dominations and Powers his subject. - 1Peter 3:18-22 -
When angels sinned, God did not spare them: he sent them down to the underworld and consigned them to the dark underground caves to be held there till the day of Judgment. Nor did God spare the world in ancient times: it was only Noah he saved, the preacher of righteousness, along with seven others, when He sent the Flood over a disobedient world. The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah these too God condemned and reduced to ashes; he destroyed them completely, as a warning to anybody lacking reverence in the future. - 2Peter 2:4-6 -
When the ark was ready, Noah entered in with all kinds of animals 'and the Lord shut him in' cut off completely from the rest of mankind. - Gen. 7:7-9, 15-16 - Noah was grateful to God's who had delivered him from the Flood. After the Flood he built an altar to God and made sacrifice which was accepted graciously. The Lord promised Noah and his descendants that He would never destroy the world again with a flood. God's made an everlasting covenant with Noah and his descendants, establishing the Rainbow as the sign of His promise. The Lord also blessed Noah and restored the creation command, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth". These were the same words He had spoken earlier to Adam. - Gen 1:28, 8:20-21, 9:1, 12-17 -
Noah became the first tiller of the soil and keeper of vineyards after the Flood. His drunkenness is a prelude to the curse that was soon to be invoked on Canaan and his descendants, the Canaanites. Noah died at the age of 950 years old. - Gen. 9:18-29 -
In the Gospels of the New Testament, the account of Noah and the Flood is used as an indication of the end times. Warning His hearers about the suddenness of Jesus return. Jesus referred to the sudden catastrophe that fell upon unbelievers at the time of the Flood: - Luke 17:26-37 -
As it was in Noah's day, so will it be when the Son of Man comes. For in those days before the Flood people were eating, drinking, taking wives, taking husbands, right up to the day Noah went into the ark and they suspected nothing till the Flood came and swept all away. It will be like this when the Son of Man comes. Then of two men in the fields one is taken, one is left; of two women at the millstone grinding, one is taken, one left.
So stay awake because you do not know the day when your master is coming. You may be quite sure of this that if the householder had known at what time of the night the burglar would come, he would have stayed awake and would not have allowed anyone to break through the wall of his house. Therefore, you too must stand ready because the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. - Matt. 24:37-44 - Luke 17:26-37 -
Wake up; revive what little you have left: it is dying fast. So far I have failed to notice anything in the way you live that my God could possibly call perfect and yet do you remember how eager you were when you first heard the message? Hold on to that. Repent. If you do not wake up, I shall come to you like a thief, without telling you at what hour to expect me. There are a few in Sardis, it is true, who have kept their robes from being dirtied and they are fit to come with me, dressed in white. Those who prove victorious will be dressed, like these, in white robes; I shall not blot their names out of the book of life but acknowledges their names in the presence of my Father and his angels. If anyone has ears to hear, let him listen to what the Spirit is saying to the Churches. - Rev. 3:2-6 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!
I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.
HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -
