1. God's moral beauty and perfection of character. This divine quality is beyond man's understanding. - Ps. 113:4 - All people 'fall short' of it.
Both Jew and pagans sinned and forfeited God's glory, and both are justified through the free gift of his grace by being redeemed in Christ Jesus who was appointed by God to sacrifice his life so as to win reconciliation through faith. - Rom. 3:23-24 -
2. God's moral beauty and perfection as a visible presence. While God's glory is not a substance, at times God does reveal His perfection to man in a visible way. Such a display of the presence of God is often seen as fire or dazzling light, but sometimes as an act of power. Some examples from the Old Testament are the pillar of cloud and fire, - Ex. 13:21 - the Lord's deliverance of the Israelites at the Red Sea, - Ex. 14 - and especially His glory in the tabernacle and Temple. - Lev. 9:23-24; 1Kin. 8:11 -
In the New Testament the glory of God has been shown mainly in Christ. - Luke 9:29-32; John 2:11-12 - This was the first of the signs given by Jesus; it was given at Cana in Galilee. He let his glory be seen and his disciples believed in him. Christ now shares His divine glory with His apostles, disciples, followers and believers, so that their lives Christians are being transformed into the glorious image of God. Believers will be fully glorified at the end of time in God's heavenly presence. There the glory of God will be seen everywhere.
I have given them the glory you gave to me;
that they may be one as we are one. - John 17:22 -
Now this Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, with our unveiled faces reflecting like mirrors the brightness of the Lord, all grow brighter brighter as we are turned into the image that we reflect; this is the work of the Lord who is Spirit. - 2Cor. 3:18 -
But when Christ is revealed-and he is your life- you too will be revealed in all your glory with him. - Col. 3:4 -
The Lamb that was sacrificed is worthy to be given power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory and blessing. Then I heard all the living things in creation-everything that lives in the air, and on the ground, and under the ground, and in the sea, crying. 'To the One who is sitting on the throne and to the Lamb, be all praise, honour, glory and power, forever and ever'. And the four animals said, 'Amen'; and the elders prostrated themselves to worship. - Rev. 5:12-14 - John 17:5-6; Rom. 5:2; Rev. 21:23; Ps. 115:1 -
Glorify is to magnify God through praising His name and honouring His commandments. Jesus also glorified His father through His perfect obedience and His sacrificial death on our behalf.
Father, the hour has come:
glorify your Son
so that your Son may glorify you. - John 17:1 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!
I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.
HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -
