Angel refers to a member of an order of heavenly beings who are superior to man in power and intelligence. By nature angels are spiritual beings. Their nature is superior to human nature and they have superhuman power and knowledge. They are not, however, all-powerful and all-knowing.
The truth is they are all spirits whose work is service, sent to help those who will be the heirs of salvation. - Heb. 1:14 -
May the word of my lord the king your servant thought set me at rest. For my lord the king is like the angel of God for discerning good and evil. May Yahweh your God be with you.
Your servant Joab acted in this way to disguise the matter but my lord has the wisdom of the angel of God; he knows all that takes place on earth. - 2Sam. 14:17,20 -
Such self-willed people with no reverence are not afraid of offending against the glorious ones but the angels in their greater strength and power make no complaint or accusation against them in front of the Lord. - 2Pet. 2:11 -
Bless Yahweh, all his angels,
heroes mighty to enforce his word,
attentive to his word of command. - Psalms 103:20 -
God will very rightly repay with injury those who are injuring you and reward you who are suffering now with the same peace as he will give us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven with the angels of his power. He will come in flaming fire to impose the penalty on all who do not acknowledge God and refuse to accept the Good News of our Lord Jesus. - 2Thes. 1:7-8 -
Angels are never known to appear to wicked people - only to those whom the Sacred Scripture/Holy Bible views as good such as Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, Daniel, Blessed Virgin Mary.......They are charged with caring for such people and serving them in times of need. - Ps. 91:11-12 - They also guide and instruct good people. This task is illustrated by the role the angels played in God's giving of the Law of Moses. - Acts 7:38,53; Heb. 2:2 - Sometimes their guidance comes through human dreams.
Angels also protect the people of God - Dan. 3:28; Matt. 26:53 - They meet a variety of human needs including relieving hunger and thirst - Gen. 21:17-19; Mark 1:13 - and overcoming loneliness and dread. They sometimes deliver the people of God from danger. - Luke 22:43; Acts 5:19; 12:6-11 -
Although they are not the objects of salvation angels are interested in the salvation of human beings.
But instead, it seems to me, God has put us apostles at the end of his parade with the men sentenced to death; it is true - we have been put on show in front of the whole universe, angels as well as men. - 1Cor. 4:9 -
The Angel of the Lord performed actions associated with God such as revelation, deliverance and destruction but he can be spoken of a distinct from God. This is a mystery.
In the celestial hierarchy a spiritual being next in rank above an angel is called or known as an Archangel. The word archangel occurs several times in the Sacred Scripture/Holy Bible. In the New Testament the voice of an archangel and the sounding of the trumpet of God will signal the coming of Christ for His people and Michael the archangel disputed with the Satan/devil about the body of Moses and in the Old Testament archangel Michael is described as having a great power and authority and is the guardian of Israel especially in the time of trouble in the last days. - 1Thes. 4:16; Jude 9; Dan. 10:13,21; 12:1 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!
I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.
HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -
