"The earth is the Lord's" wrote the psalmist, "and all its fullness" - Ps. 24:1 - Earth refers to the planet on which mankind lives.God is sovereign over the earth. All its living creatures including mankind are subject to His rule. The Israelites were promised that if they obeyed God's will and kept His laws the earth would produce fruitful harvest; if they were disobedient, however, the crops would fail and famine would come. - Deuteronomy chapter 28 -

After the Fall in the Garden of Eden the earth was put under a curse. The Lord God said to Adam, "cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you". - Gen. 3:17-18 -

In the New Testament, apostle Paul wrote that the whole creation - including the earth and mankind - was subjected to futility and groans to be delivered from the bondage of corruption.

It was not for any fault on the part of creation that it was made unable to attain its purpose it was made so by God but creation still retains the hope of being freed, like us, from its slavery to decadence to enjoy the same freedom and glory as the children of God. From the beginning till now the entire creation as we know, has been groaning in one great act of giving birth; and not only creation but all of us who possess the first-fruits of the Spirit we too groan inwardly as we wait for our bodies to be set free. For we must be content to hope that we shall be saved - our salvation is not in sight we should not have to be hoping for it if it were but as I say, we must hope to be saved since we are not saved yet - it is something we must wait for with patience. - Rom. 8:20-25 -

At the end of the age, however, the earth will be given renewed life, fertility and productivity. Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now and there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city and the new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven as beautiful as a bride all dressed for her husband. - Rev. 21:1-2 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!

I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.

HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -
