Sanctification as separation from the world and setting apart for God's service is a concept found throughout the Sacred Scripture/Holy Bible. Spoken of as "holy" or "set apart" in the Old Testament were the land of Canaan, the city of Jerusalem, the tabernacle, the Temple, the Sabbath, the feasts, the true prophets, the anointed priests and the garments of the priests. God is sanctified by the witness of believers and by His judgments upon sin.
No one.......Simply reverence the Lord Christ in your hearts and always have an answer ready for people who ask you the reason for the hope that you all have...,it is better to suffer for doing right than for doing wrong. - 1Pet. 3:13-17 - Ezek. 38:16 -
In the New Testament, Jesus was "sanctified and sent into the world" but not of the world. As the process by which God purifies the believer, sanctification is based on the sacrificial death of Christ. the apostle Paul noted that God has "chosen" and "reconciled" us to Himself in Christ for the purpose of sanctification.
Before the world was made, he chose us, chose us in Christ, to be holy and spotless and to live through love in his presence determining that we should become his adopted sons through Jesus Christ. - Eph. 1:4 -
He sacrificed himself for us in order to set us free from all wickedness and to purify a people so that it could be his very own and would have no ambition except to do good. - Titus 2: 14 -
Old Testament sacrifices did not take away sin but they were able to sanctify 'for the purifying of the flesh'. The blood of new covenant, however, goes far beyond this ritual purification of the body. The offering of Christ's body and blood serves to purge our conscience from "dead works to serve the living God".
He is abolishing the first sort to replace it with the second. And this will was for us to be made holy by the offering of his body made once and for all by Jesus Christ. - Heb. 10:10 -
The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer are sprinkled on those who have incurred defilement and they restore the holiness of their outward lives; how much more effectively the blood of Christ who offered himself as the perfect sacrifice to God through the eternal Spirit, can purify our inner self from dead actions so that we do our service to the living God. - Heb. 9:13-14 - Heb. 10:28-29, 13:10-16 -
Because our cleansing from sin is made possible only by Christ's passion, death and resurrection, we are "sanctified in Christ Jesus".
And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace that has power to build you up and to give you your inheritance among all the sanctified. - Acts 20:32 -
The human race has nothing to boast about to God but you God has made members of Christ Jesus and by God's doing he has become our wisdom and our virtue and our holiness and our freedom. As scripture says: If anyone wants to boast, let him boast about the Lord. - 1Cor. 1:29-31 -
You know perfectly well that people who do wrong will not inherit the kingdom of God: people of immortal lives, idolaters, adulterers, catamites, sodomites, thieves, usurers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers will never inherit the kingdom of God. These are the sort of people some of you were once but now you have been washed clean, and sanctified, and justified through the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God. - 1Cor. 6:9-11 -

I have through years of reading, pondering, reflecting and contemplating, the 3 things that last; FAITH . HOPE . LOVE and I would like to made available my sharing from the many thinkers, authors, scholars and theologians whose ideas and thoughts I have borrowed. God be with them always. Amen!
I STILL HAVE MANY THINGS TO SAY TO YOU BUT THEY WOULD BE TOO MUCH FOR YOU NOW. BUT WHEN THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH COMES, HE WILL LEAD YOU TO THE COMPLETE TRUTH, SINCE HE WILL NOT BE SPEAKING AS FROM HIMSELF, BUT WILL SAY ONLY WHAT HE HAS LEARNT; AND HE WILL TELL YOU OF THE THINGS TO COME.
HE WILL GLORIFY ME, SINCE ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. EVERYTHING THE FATHER HAS IS MINE; THAT IS WHY I SAID: ALL HE TELLS YOU WILL BE TAKEN FROM WHAT IS MINE. - JOHN 16:12-15 -
